He was 82 years old.

Beloved father of Deborah L. (Mike) Bolton and Sandra A. Randolph, who survive, and grandchildren, Michael, Aaron, and Sarah Bolton. Also surviving are brothers, Raymond (Sue) and Richard; twin sisters, Mildred (Dale) Phelps and Maxine (Mike) Graham. Many nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in the Ohio River at Hockingport, Ohio. The Ohio River flood of 1937 had filled the house so they had to move to the second floor. The doctor came by boat.

Jim enjoyed listening to live bluegrass and old time country music and attended many such events at various senior centers He loved to play Bingo and cards. He belonged to several Senior Centers including: Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti Township, Belleville, and Saline and spent a lot of time there visiting. He was also a member of the Ypsilanti Historical Society and the Heritage Automotive Museum.

He was a loving grandpa and a great brother and friend to many, always ready to help or just share conversation with those he encountered. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him including Linda Randolph (ex-wife and lifelong friend).

Memorial at a later time. Cards with personal memory appreciated.

Firefighter Jim used to live near us at our home on Cross St and after moving to our new house, we were thrilled to see him coming to the Saturday music at Clark Rd Rec Center. My husband played music there and I would always head for Jim’s table where he was always waiting with a big smile and hug for me and telling me how much he missed me walking our dogs down the street when we lived near him. I missed him so much after he moved and stopped attending. The world is a lot more sad without you Firefighter Jim.❤️
