Obituary for James Robert McNabb

James Robert McNabb, 72, passed away on July 5, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family in Ypsilanti, Michigan following a long illness of COPD. A Shaman and author, James was born the second of five boys on the Padgett family farm on May 30, 1947 in Paradise County in Kingsley, Michigan to Herman Frank McNabb and Iva Lea (Padgett) McNabb. He attended St. Veronica’s Elementary School in Eastpointe, MI, and was a proud Boy Scout. He graduated from Eastpointe High School in 1966. James enlisted in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1967 because of a bad knee. On January 29, 1968, he married Jeanne Renee (Wittesaele) McNabb and was blessed with 36 years of marriage before she preceded him in death in 2004. They were blessed with two precious sons, Jason and Jody. He married Cynthia (D’Agostino) McNabb on September 10, 2005. His life’s work included: supermarket management, private business owner, home construction, and Shamanism. Recognized by Shaman Soaring Eagle, James was gifted the title of Shaman and named, Little Eagle Standing Strong. The honorable Native American name and personal medicine shield were presented in a private ceremony. Little Eagle Standing Strong dedicated his life to the pursuit of truth and to helping people. “Holding the love and light vibrations” were his purpose. His prayer book, 21st Century Spiritual Guidance continues to help people. He was internationally known for his work. He hosted two shows: The 21 st Century Apostle Show in Shelby Township, and More Than Paranormal Internet show. He was interviewed by many and was featured on FOX, AM and FM radio, Internet shows, and in journals and publications. James will be lovingly remembered and cherished by: his wife, Cynthia (D’Agostino) McNabb, of 14 years; sons Jason McNabb and Jody (Treasa) McNabb; his step children Eric (Lindsey) Williams, and Joy Williams; his 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren: Reba (Alex) Fitts and great grandchildren, Jayden and Chevy James; Jacob Woodward, Carolann McNabb; his 7 step-grandchildren: Jalen, Brysen, Kyren, Ashten, Rylen, Christian, and Brielle Williams. He is fondly cherished by his 4 brothers: Michael (Joyce) McNabb, Frank (Linda) McNabb, Charles (Deborah) McNabb, Leroy (Virginia) McNabb, sister-in-laws, Janet (Mike) Falk, Jill (Dave) Gerlach, Jane (Terry) Hamilton, and Allison (Eric) Tookes, Aunt Lovella Ashby, Aunt Irene Brooks, and nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great- grandnieces and nephews (respectively): Michelle (Troy) Ropp, Tiara, Keagan, and Dakota; Tina (Jack) Klarr, Joshua; Aaron (Mary) Yeman , Vanessa, Sophia; Sean; Brandon (Lauren) Lily; Steve (Angela) McNabb, Kyle; Nicole (Troy) Kosiba and Emma, Samantha, Kathan, Cody; Charlie (Angela) McNabb; Andrew (Ashley) McNabb, Landon , Matthew (Beige) McNabb, Sevyna and a host of cousins. James is proceeded in death by his parents, Iva Lea (Padgett) McNabb and Herman Frank McNabb.
